Using 31 metrics in areas such as general livability, health and education systems, economic growth and tax rates, personal financial website WalletHubranked all cities with a population of 300,000 or more.

4. San Jose, California
6. San Diego
8. San Francisco (tie)
9. Lexington, Kentucky (tie)
10. Virginia Beach, Virginia
Last month, Austin ranked No. 9 on a list for the top cities in which to find a job. Forbes put out that report after analyzing data from Career Builder.
